Atlas FAQ and help

Atlas is still running as a beta product. There is no public launch date announced yet. Access is currently handled through early-access review rather than open self-serve signup.

Atlas can connect supported providers, sync approved content, store searchable metadata and extracted text, generate previews, and provide search across files, email, code, knowledge content, media, design files, and project work depending on the connector. For supported providers, Atlas can also run selected actions such as browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, upload new files, create folders when the connected account has permission.

Atlas currently lists these live connectors: Google Drive, Gmail, Google Photos, OneDrive, Dropbox, GitHub, Notion, Slack, Box, GitLab, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, Figma, Linear, Airtable, AWS S3. Roadmap-only connectors are kept separate and are not presented as live access paths.

Google Drive is currently listed as live. Google Drive search, previews, downloads, uploads, folders, and file operations. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, upload new files, create folders, rename items, move items, copy items, delete items, create share links. Limitations: Shared drives and some team-managed content may require separate provider-side approval.

Gmail is currently listed as live. Mailbox search across threads, messages, labels, and supported attachments. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas treats Gmail as read-only and indexes recent mail first before expanding history.

Google Photos is currently listed as live. User-selected Google Photos media import using picker sessions rather than full-library background sync. Auth model: picker session. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas uses picker sessions only and does not run full-library Google Photos sync.

OneDrive is currently listed as live. OneDrive search with previews, downloads, supported file operations, and Microsoft Graph subscriptions. Auth model: oauth + subscription. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, upload new files, create folders, rename items, move items, copy items, delete items, create share links. Limitations: Business or tenant-managed accounts may require separate Microsoft admin approval.

Dropbox is currently listed as live. Dropbox search with previews, downloads, supported file operations, and share-link creation. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, upload new files, create folders, rename items, move items, copy items, delete items, create share links. Limitations: Some team or business features remain subject to Dropbox plan and admin settings.

GitHub is currently listed as live. GitHub repository and code search with previews, downloads, branch creation, and supported file actions. Auth model: oauth + webhook. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, rename items, delete items, create repository branches, edit repository files. Limitations: Private repository coverage depends on the permissions granted to the connected GitHub account.

Notion is currently listed as live. Notion page and database search with previews and downloads across shared workspace content. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas only sees the pages and databases the installing user shares with the Notion integration.

Slack is currently listed as live. Slack workspace search across channels, DMs, threads, files, and event-driven updates. Auth model: oauth + webhook. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Private channels are only indexed after the Atlas app is explicitly invited to them.

Box is currently listed as live. Box search with previews, downloads, file actions, uploads, folders, and share-link creation. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, upload new files, create folders, rename items, move items, copy items, delete items, create share links. Limitations: Some enterprise retention, classification, or collaboration controls remain subject to Box plan and admin settings.

GitLab is currently listed as live. GitLab repository and code search with previews, downloads, branch creation, and supported file edits. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items, create repository branches, edit repository files. Limitations: Private project coverage depends on the permissions granted to the connected GitLab account and configured GitLab instance URL.

Confluence is currently listed as live. Confluence space and page search with previews and HTML exports across connected Atlassian cloud sites. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas supports the Atlassian cloud sites returned during OAuth, and restricted pages only appear when the connected account can read them.

Microsoft Teams is currently listed as live. Microsoft Teams workspace search across teams, channels, channel messages, and shared files. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Teams coverage depends on the teams, channels, and tenant policies available to the connected Microsoft account.

Figma is currently listed as live. Figma project and file browsing with design previews and frame export. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas treats Figma as read-only and does not modify designs.

Linear is currently listed as live. Linear project and issue browsing with search across teams and issue previews. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items. Limitations: Atlas treats Linear as read-only and does not create or modify issues.

Airtable is currently listed as live. Airtable base and record browsing with table previews and CSV export. Auth model: oauth. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, preview supported items, download supported items. Limitations: Atlas supports read-only access to Airtable bases that the connected account can access.

AWS S3 is currently listed as live. AWS S3 bucket browsing with object download, upload, and transfer support. Auth model: planned. Supported actions: browse connected content, search indexed results, download supported items, upload new files. Limitations: Atlas uses IAM access key authentication for S3, not OAuth. Permissions depend on the IAM policy.

Atlas connects to the providers you authorize, syncs supported metadata and content, stores searchable extracted text and preview data where supported, and uses those records to power search and browsing. It is designed as a connected-workspace index, not as a claim that every provider is fully copied into Atlas in identical depth.

Atlas currently runs as a Next.js application with Prisma-managed operational state, connector adapters, sync jobs, search and preview pipelines, and workspace-level analytics and operational monitoring. Connector behavior differs by provider, so the product describes each provider according to its real category and current implementation.

Connector secrets are stored in encrypted form using the Atlas application encryption key. Authentication relies on HTTP-only session cookies for active user sessions. Preview artifacts are stored in private object storage rather than being made publicly accessible by default. Atlas limits claims in this policy to the controls that are visible in the codebase today. Atlas does not claim SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR DPA, EU representative, or data residency commitments that are not actually implemented. When a user disconnects a connector account, Atlas removes the connector record and cascades deletion of connector-linked documents and previews from the primary database. Preview artifact retention follows the configured Atlas artifact retention window where applicable, but Atlas does not promise every backup, log, or provider-side record disappears instantly. Account, session, log, and activity data are retained for operational, security, and support needs until Atlas has a fuller self-serve deletion workflow. Users can request account or data deletion by emailing akhieleshsrirangam@gmail.com. Atlas may need to keep limited records required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Atlas is operating as a free beta right now. Self-serve billing and live payments are not active yet. Paid plans may be introduced later, but they are not available today.

Yes. Atlas keeps roadmap connectors clearly separated from live ones. Current roadmap-only connectors are: none listed right now. If a connector is roadmap-only, Atlas should not present it as available access.

Early access is manual-review in this release. A visitor applies through the early-access form, the application is reviewed internally, and approved applicants receive an invite link that takes them into the Atlas signup flow. Access is not open self-serve by default.

Yes. The public updates subscription is separate from early-access approval. You can subscribe for product and launch updates without starting an access application, and you can also opt into update emails from the early-access form.
